Welcome to the Desjardins Maple Syrup Site
Have you ever wondered how Maple Syrup is made?
Come see us during the sugaring season !
When the late winter temperatures start changing, freezing nights in the 20's and warm days in the 40's which makes the sap run great. we tap our sugar maple trees and red maple trees to collect the sap into buckets or a tubing system. thats when Sugar Season begins
this change best occurs from late February to the beginning of April
It takes 40-50 gallons of maple sap boiled down to make 1 gallon of maple syrup
As the old motto goes in sugaring... the sap thats collected today.. gets boiled today
